2021 Report to the Association’s Annual Meeting
Obviously it was a slow year for workshops and training events this year. We will hope for better results next year.
The Northeast Missouri Pastors and Wives Retreat will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Hannibal on Friday and Saturday, October 1-2. The speaker is Pastor Kevin Collins, Omaha Baptist Church, Unionville. Sessions for the wives will be led by Melody Satterwhite, wife of the DOM of Mt. Salem/Wyaconda and Pleasant Grove Baptist Associations in Kahoka. The theme is “Life is Hard, But God is Good.” They invite pastors and wives to take a break from the action and go to Hannibal for a weekend retreat with teaching and fellowship with fellow pastors and wives in northeast Missouri. The cost of this conference is underwritten to a large extent by the associations of northeast Missouri and the Missouri Baptist Convention. The conference fee is $15 per couple and for the first 25 couples to register the lodging is provided at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Hannibal. Take a few days and refresh your souls. Registration is due by September 27th at the Bethel Baptist Association. We will distribute some flyers at this annual meeting to pastors in the association.
The associations of northeast Missouri and the Missouri Baptist Convention will be holding a Sunday School, Small Groups and Evangelism Workshop on Saturday, October 30th at First Baptist Church, Shelbina. This is intended to provide training for Sunday school teachers, small group leaders and anyone interested in evangelism and outreach in their communities. A website and prayer process called “Bless Every Home” will be featured. Brad Bennett and Brent Longnecker from the Missouri Baptist Convention Making Disciples Group will be the leaders of this workshop. More information will be distributed at this annual meeting.
Another workshop on the drawing board will be a workshop we’ve offered before called “Money Management for Christian Leaders.” We will discuss church budgets and financial procedures as well as opportunities for Christians to become better money managers and Christian stewards. That will be scheduled in the spring of the year.
Thanks for your support of Church Development efforts in the THBA.
