Pack your bags and grab your gear, VBS 2021 is headed to present-day Israel where an epic adventure of discovery awaits. Discover long-hidden treasures, amazing finds, and exciting evidence that proves biblical events were not just stories. They really happened.

At Destination Dig, kids will unearth more than just dirt. They’ll discover real-life archaeological finds that have helped to uncover the truth about Jesus. Stories from the Bible will leap off the pages as kids explore where Jesus walked and examine artifacts that bring the world of the Bible to life. As junior archaeologists, kids will study tangible pieces of the past to learn the truth about who Jesus is and why He came. Along the way they’ll discover the truth of Jeremiah 29:13 that God reveals Himself to us when we seek and search for Him with all our hearts.

2021 Report to the Association

This year more churches in our association decided to implement an in-person Vacation Bible School and kids were ready!  We praise God for His guidance and His strength as we navigate through these challenging times.  Our THBA VBS team attended the Missouri Baptist Convention Training Conference in Chillicothe, MO on March 1, 2021. We all gained valuable tools and information, including COVID considerations, that equipped us for the association’s training conference on April 24, 2021.  Our early conference this year for VBS Directors and Pastors took place on Saturday, March 6 at Fellowship Baptist Church. There were 11 people present, with four churches represented.

We had a wonderful Association Training team who worked very hard this year at preparing for our conference; we covered both Concrete & Cranes and Designation Dig curriculum, teaching ideas, and decorations this year. We had 42 people present with 7 churches represented.  I want to recognize our Training team for their willingness to serve and pray through this season:

Richard Nations, Thousand Hills Baptist Association Director of Missions
Bobbie Bansal, VBS Coordinator and Concrete & Cranes Review
Amber Lash, Preschool VBS and Crafts
    Kelly Williams, Children’s VBS
    Sunshine Williams, VBX
Kabir Bansal, Adult VBS and Children & Salvation
Karen McClaskey, Concrete & Cranes decorations
    Billy & Sherry Pippin, Snacks
    Walter Griffin, Missions
    Rachel Nations, Safety at VBS

Continue to pray for God’s blessings on the upcoming THBA VBS Training Team as they begin to prepare for VBS 2022 and the training conferences offered by THBA!  What a fun and exciting way to share the Lord and His love with our communities! The LifeWay VBS theme for 2022 is: Spark Studios: Created in Christ – Designed for God’s Purposes. Kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him. Key Verse: Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
